Before becoming famous and moving into a luxurious $29 million home, Dr. Phil was homeless and “lived on the streets.”

Audiences have admired the psychologist ever since he made his debut on television by appearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” thanks to his down-to-earth approach to human psychology and his charming nature. So, it was only natural and appropriate for him to have his own program in 2002, and he gave it the name “Dr. Phil.” Since then, Dr. Phil has never stopped entertaining and educating his audience while simultaneously winning their affection.

His program has also given the globe an opportunity to meet his cherished family members, such as his wife, Robin McGraw, and his kids, Jay McGraw and Jordan McGraw. Robin is a published author and has become a much-loved regular guest on “Dr. Phil,” where she provides a female perspective on various issues that are discussed.

Dr. Phil and his wife Robin had been together for over half a century at this point. Previously, in an interview with Closer Weekly in 2018, Robin stated that the two of them fell in “love at first sight” with one another.

According to what Robin said, “I genuinely knew the very first evening I sat and talked with him that he was The One.”

In 2022, as they were celebrating the 46th year of their marriage, Robin published an Instagram post in his honor. She said that being around him made her feel “like the luckiest lady in the world.”

As everything is going on, both of Dr. Phil’s boys have made the decision to pursue jobs in the entertainment business.

Given that their father is a prominent figure in the entertainment industry as well as the field of psychology, it is only natural for his children to follow in his footsteps. Although Jordan is a singer, Jay has a career in writing and producing television shows.

His deep love for his family is one of the aspects of Dr. Phil’s private life that the audience has had the opportunity to see and appreciate. If you watch Dr. Phil on television or go through his Instagram account, you will notice that his family plays a significant part in his life. This serves as more evidence of the strong connection he has with his relatives. Even spending time with his grandchildren is something he looks forward to.

Because of his incredible success, Dr. Phil has amassed a fortune of many millions of dollars. Because of this, he and his wife Robin are able to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle in the magnificent estate in Beverly Hills that they purchased in the year 2010.

When Dr. Phil started working on his television series, the talk-show presenter and his devoted wife used to make their home in the Dallas area of Texas. Presently, they make their home in Beverly Hills, where they enjoy the high life in the magnificent house designed in the manner of an alamo. The couple paid a total of $29.5 million in 2010 to acquire the property. There are a total of nine bathrooms and five bedrooms available in this home.

According to reports, Dr. Phil purchased this property before he had even sold his former home in Los Angeles, which was advertised for a price of $16 million at the time. Their new mansion, which is situated on three acres of land, looks out over the location of their old house.

The McGraws’ guest house is not included in the measurement of the mansion’s total square footage, which totals 15,000 square feet. Tennis courts, a swimming pool, and beautiful landscaping can be seen in the expansive yard that surrounds the house. The kitchen is enormous, and it has a gorgeous backsplash that is located just over the range. There are numerous living rooms that may be decorated by Robin, in addition to an office that can be used by Dr. Phil.

But, Dr. Phil has had to work hard for all of his present success; it did not come easily to him in the beginning. Dr. Phil discussed his childhood in an appearance on The Coach Mike podcast, which was hosted by celebrity life coach Mike Bayer. Dr. Phil was candid about his experiences growing up.

Dr. Phil came from a violent family when he was a child. Due to the fact that his father was an alcoholic, they were forced to relocate often for periods of time lasting just a few days at a time.

Dr. Phil said that there was a lot of traveling involved. “Since my father was an alcoholic, my family and I relocated every two or three years,” he said.

He said that his attempts to dissuade his father from drinking alcohol were unsuccessful.

It didn’t matter what you said to him, he just couldn’t be convinced to give up drinking. You’re right, it wouldn’t make a difference. He was the kind to total an automobile. That was of no consequence. “The following day, he’d be drinking,” he said of the man.

Yet, Dr. Phil was able to find strategies to protect himself from his father’s violent conduct. He referred to the state of his residence as “complete anarchy.”

“To avoid walking through the rest of the home, I entered and exited by climbing via the window of the bedroom. It was complete and utter anarchy… He said that there was yelling, shouting violence as well as domestic violence.

Yet this was just the beginning of worse things to come for him throughout his adolescent and early adult years as a result of his father who he characterized as being “irresponsible.” He was forced to live on the streets as a result of this circumstance.

“I’ve been homeless. I’ve experienced what it’s like to be homeless in Kansas City… “At one time,” he said, “I slept in a cardboard box.”

Even though they did find an apartment in the end, they were forced to undergo the ordeal of living there without power.

At this point in time, Dr. Phil is leading a prosperous life, which is the only thing that really counts.
